[Up: James Joyce] [JAJportal] [Robot Wisdom home page]
My Joyce pages include 'text buttons' labelled [password] that link to particular messages or threads in the archives of the j-joyce mailinglist. You have to be an actual 'subscriber' to access the archives (for no good reason I can see), but it's easy to re-set your 'subscription options' so you won't have to get the email version at all.
Go to http://www.lists.utah.edu/guest/register to register. Choose a very simple login name and password because you'll have to type it back in each time (I don't think they offer 'cookies' to automate this).
Then go to: http://www.lists.utah.edu/reguser/listutil/J-JOYCE and subscribe, and then if you don't want to get the email version go to http://www.lists.utah.edu/reguser/subopt/J-JOYCE and re-set your subscription options to 'postpone'. (Be careful with that last link labelled 'Unsubscribe'-- it will just unsubscribe you with no other warning.)
The archives will (hopefully) now be browsable and searchable at: http://www.lists.utah.edu/reguser/archives/J-JOYCE/ Currently they only go back to 1 Jan 2000 but perhaps this will change.
Because this question gets asked weekly, to the great annoyance of the full list, here are email unsubscribe instructions. You have to send email to listproc@lists.utah.edu from the same address you subscribed from. The first line of your message should be unsubscribe j-joyce
If your email address has changed you may be able to use unsubscribe j-joyce FOR oldname@oldaddress.com
If these don't work, send email to the human at: listadmin@lists.utah.edu
There's an eGroups mailinglist for Ulysses that's got a lot more debate than j-joyce, but it also requires registration to access the archives: [more]
